Stipend and Benefits

Housestaff for all Northwestern University affiliates (including Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago) are employed by and receive benefits through the McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University and are unionized with the Committee of Interns and Residents.

Resident Stipends

The salary levels for the 2025-26 training year:

• PGY1: $76,202.49
• PGY2: $79,209.06
• PGY3: $81,876.76
• PGY4: $86,501.46
• PGY5: $89,997.28
• PGY6: $92,784.46
• PGY7+: $96,385.34
